Basement is a compact underground event space in Vesterbro, run as part of the Vesterbro Library and Culture House and located in a backyard immediately next to VEGA. Reached down a narrow staircase, the room hosts a mix of electronic music nights, live performances and art exhibitions rather than operating as a conventional commercial nightclub — its programming leans experimental and platform-style, supporting newer artists and smaller promoters. Because of its municipal affiliation, Basement sits slightly apart from Copenhagen's private club circuit, functioning more as a small, flexible cultural venue that regularly makes room for electronic programming than as a dedicated club. Its location next to VEGA and proximity to Enghave Plads station puts it within the same nightlife pocket as several of the city's other club venues.
